Among the many jars of jams on the shelves, the red and white checked lids of the Bonne Maman brand help them stand out from the crowd. The ethos at the French jam-making HQ is simple: it’s all about the ingredients. With high fruit content, no colourings, preservatives or artificial flavourings, their preserves are made from authentic recipes with only the finest natural ingredients. Here's the breakdown...

The making

Intensely flavoured fruit and sugar are gently cooked together so as not to damage the fruit pieces. Bonne Maman use 50% premium quality fruits and 50% sugar.

The packaging

Bonne Maman place hand-written style labels on their jars and top them with the signature red and white Vichy check lids that embody timeless French tradition.

The healthy option

In Europe, by definition, a preserve must have at least 55% of total sugar content. In the Middle East, it’s 65%, otherwise, it can’t be called a preserve. In response to customers’ requests, Bonne Maman released their Intense range of fruit spreads (strawberry, apricot, and red fruits) that contain more fruit and less sugar.
