Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4.
Grease and line a 30 x 20cm rectangular cake tin.
Mix the self-raising flour, 3 large eggs, yoghurt, caster sugar, pure sunflower oil and a few drops of almond extract in a large bowl.
Arrange the ripe, sliced strawberries on top of the cake.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean and the cake is golden.
Brush the top with the strawberry jam while still hot.
