Preheat the braai to medium heat.

Place the boerewors coil onto the grill over indirect heat. This helps cook it through without burning the outside.

Cook for 15–20 minutes, turning the coil gently every few minutes with tongs to ensure even browning. Avoid piercing the sausage as this causes it to lose its juices and dry out. Boerewors is ready when nicely browned and cooked through, with juices running clear.

Serve straight off the braai, rest for a few minutes before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
