Home-grown brand Vietnamese Foodies will distribute 1,500 meals to those in need this Ramadan, working alongside licensed charity Dubai Good Will. A special Iftar meal will be prepared, which will include an appetiser, a main course, a bag of fruit and a drink. The meals will be distributed from Al Futtaim Mosque in Dubai. The initiative is part of Vietnamese Foodies' commitment to uplifting the local community and leaving a positive impact on the place it's proudly called home since opening its doors in JLT back in 2018.

For the fifth year in a row, Media One Hotel has launched its Ramadan Sharing Fridge, an initiative by Media One Cares, which helps workers break their fast after a day of hard work in the surrounding communities. Tenants and businesses in the building are encouraged to sponsor the fridge for a day and donate suitable items of food. Aligning with the property’s sustainability efforts, donations are encouraged to be provided in pre-packed sustainable bags and eliminate single-use plastic containers and utensils.

Conrad Dubai's Green Ramadan initiative

Conrad-Ramadan-Event---7.png

Buffets across the city are notorious for the amount of waste they produce but as part of Hilton’s Green Ramadan initiative, Conrad Dubai is on a mission to tackle this problem. By implementing composting with The Waste Lab, making food donations to the UAE Food Bank and using an AI-driven food waste measurement by Winnow, the hotel can offset a lot of the waste from its popular iftar and suhoor offerings at Al-Wāha. Ingredients used for the buffets are locally sourced, in-season and sustainably grown, with much of the green produce coming from Conrad Dubai’s very own hydroponic farm on the sixth floor.
