A fragrant vegetarian soup made with rice, chickpeas and brown lentils, Harira is a classic Moroccan soup traditionally served to break the fast during the Holy month of Ramadan. Typically made with chicken, lamb or beef, our version of the North African soup is vegetarian; it has a tomato base mixed with rice, chickpeas and a blend of traditional spices like harissa, cinnamon, cumin and turmeric with a kick of ginger.

Preparation Guidelines
Once opened, keep refrigerated below 5°C and use within 1 day. Heating instructions: Carefully empty contents into a saucepan and discard the packaging. Heat gently, stirring occasionally. Bring to a light boil. Serve immediately. For microwave heating, empty contents into a microwavable bowl and heat for 4-5 minutes. Stir halfway through heating time. Allow to stand for 2 minutes after heating then stir thoroughly. Serving suggestions: Serve garnished with chopped fresh parsley and coriander, and lemon wedges on the side.

Water, canned tomatoes (tomatoes, tomato juice), brown onions, boiled chickpeas (chickpeas, water, salt), celery, brown lentils, basmati rice, olive oil, harissa paste (onion, red pepper, garlic, red chilli, rapeseed oil, paprika, tomato purée, lemon juice concentrate [lemon, preservative sodium metabisulfite], sugar, coriander, cumin, smoked paprika, fennel, black pepper), vegetable flavour (yeast extract, soya protein, maltodextrin, vegetable flavour [soya bean oil, celery oil]), ginger, lemon juice, salt, tomato paste, coriander powder, roasted cumin powder, cumin seeds, garlic, coriander leaves, parsley leaves, thickener (modified starch, hydroxypropyl di-starch phosphate), cinnamon powder, turmeric powder, crushed black pepper.
