The Sindhri mango is a large, oval-shaped fruit known for its aroma and sweetness. It is the most famous mango variety from Pakistan.
Mango is a low-calorie fruit that is high in fibre, and is a great source of vitamins A and C. It also contains folate, B6, iron and a little calcium, zinc and vitamin E. Mangoes are a good source of antioxidants and just 80g of mango counts as one of your five-a-day.
"Slice downwards to remove one mango cheek, repeat on the other side. Score along the length of the cheek with the tip of the knife. Turn 90 degrees and score along again to make a criss-cross pattern. Turn the mango over and push through the skin with your fingers. The flesh will come out like a hedgehog. Cut away the chunks of flesh from the skin with a knife."
