Aubergines

Spinneys sources fresh aubergines from leading local producer Elite Agro. The aubergines are cultivated in climate-controlled greenhouses in Al Ain. The advantage of growing locally means the aubergines are allowed to ripen naturally on the plant. Once harvested the crop under-goes quality control checks before being packed. The aubergines are in stores within 24 hours of being picked.

Spinach & kale

We source kale from Armela Farms, a farm-to-table producer based in Dubai. The kale is grown in a climate-controlled greenhouse in a special organic medium using hydroponic grow-ing techniques.

Our trusted partner, Taste of Spain works with Florette, a leading producer to supply Spinneys with fresh baby spinach that is grown in Navar-ra in nothern Spain. Florette follows sustaina-ble practices, such as reusing rainwater, during the growing process.

Blueberries

Spinneys sources large size, juicy blueberries from UAE-based producer Elite Agro. The berries are grown in greenhouses using state-of-the-art climate control technology, which allows the plants to thrive. Specific nutrients are delivered to the plants using drip irrigation and regular soil and foliage analysis allows growers to control the growth of individual plants.

Grapes

Spinneys sources top-quality, juicy grapes from The Grape Company, which is based in South Africa. It works with a carefully selected group of growers who focus on quality and innovative farming practices. The Grape Company also partners with major grape breeders to secure access to the latest and best varieties. It also oversees cold-chain management and shipping.

Nadorcotts

Spinneys imports a variety of top-quality organ-ic citrus, including Nadorcott mandarins from Spanish producer Rio Tinto. Absolutely no pesticides or fungicides are used during the growing process. The fruit is dipped in a mix of naturally and organically grown garlic, thyme and bergamot, which allows them to withstand the two-week-long journey by sea to the UAE.
