Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4.
Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, reserving 4 tbsp of the pasta water.
Whisk the pasta water, cream, Cheddar and salt together. Add the cooked macaroni and mix. Place in a roasting dish or ovenproof dish.
Halve the camembert round and place over the pasta. Top with the sage leaves.
Place in the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the camembert is oozy and the cream has thickened.
Finely grate the garlic. Grate the Parmesan.
To make the topping, heat the butter in a large pan. Add the garlic and breadcrumbs. Sauté until brown. Remove from the heat and sprinkle over the macaroni.
Serve the macaroni with the Parmesan.
