We know that it’s used to make crunchy dill pickles, but what you may not know is that dill can also offer a slightly licorice-like taste to dishes that have it included.
Dill comes from the same family as parsley and celery, and offers a sweet, almost grass-like flavour. Its seeds are a spice, while its leaves are herbs.
Wash before use. Dill seeds can be used whole or crushed, and are often used in pickles bread, soups and vegetable dishes.
