HP Sauce was invented by Frederick Gibson Garton, a grocer from Nottingham in England. He registered its official name when he learned that a restaurant in the London Houses of Parliament had started serving it. HP Sauce, also known as brown sauce, has been a British icon ever since. HP's range now includes steak sauces, barbecue sauces, fruity sauces and more.
